Students are spending some time discussing digital media, how it is used in their daily lives and how they can be responsible digital citizens. They spent a week logging their media usage and transferred the data to a bar graph to better understand what and how much media they use. We used the data as a platform for informal class discussions. It was surprising to see a variety of results and students were quick to add that yes, they are consumed with texting, internet use and gaming but realize that a balance in life is important and there is still room for family, friends, school work and sports. Good stuff.
The students are in the process of completing a Passport to Digital Citizenship.
